Q. Are you an Accredited School?
Yes, we are accredited. We have national accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges.
Q. Do you offer Financial Aid, if so, what options do I have?
Yes, we do offer Federal Financial Aid for our Accountant Clerk/ Bookkeeper, Dental Assistant, Legal Assistant/Secretary, Limited X-Ray Technician, Medical Assistant, Medical Front Office Management, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and Veterinary Assistant programs (for those who qualify). The website for the FAFSA is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our school code is 037834. Students should inquire as to which tax forms are appropriate through FAFSA.

Q. How long do your programs last?
The program length depends on the program. Most programs are about six to seven months long. For more information about specific programs, please select “Academic Programs” and then select a program.
Q. How much does a 1 credit, 2 credit, or 3 credit course cost?
A 1 credit course costs $120.00, a 2 credit course costs $140.00, and a 3 credit course costs $360.00.
Q. When can I enroll in programs?
Abdill Career College, Inc. enrolls students into programs approximately every five weeks. Program start and end times vary with individual programs. Students should refer to the school’s Course Catalog & Student Information Handbook for specific program start and end times.
Q. If I have a counselor, what do I need to do to get enrolled?
We must have a copy of each student’s authorization letter to enroll in a program mailed or faxed from the student’s counselor before we can start the enrollment process. After we have the letter students may come to our office to take the entrance exam. Prospective students must have 65% or higher score to pass both sections of the entrance exam. After successful completion of both sections of the entrance exam, prospective students will be given an enrollment packet to fill out at home. Prospective students must attend the new student orientation to complete the enrollment process.
Q. What if I don’t have a counselor, what do I need to do to get enrolled?
If you do not have a counselor in which to receive prior authorization you can simply come in and take the entrance exam. Prospective students must have 65% or higher score to pass both sections of the entrance exam. After successful completion of both sections of the entrance exam, prospective students will be given an enrollment packet to fill out at home. Prospective students will then schedule a time to come in for enrollment. Prospective students must attend the new student orientation to complete the enrollment process.
Q. What if I lost my high school diploma or GED, when would you need it by?
You must provide verification of High School Graduation (a High School transcript or GED is acceptable). A good resource to try for copies of transcripts or GEDs is the Department of Education in the state in which you graduated or your former High School.
Q. Does the entrance exam cost anything and do I have to make an appointment?
The entrance exam is free to take. You must take it during our office hours here at the school. You don’t need to make an appointment to take the exam, just come prepared to spend up to an hour in the administrative front office. Also, please keep in mind we cannot allow prospective students to BEGIN the entrance exam after 3:00 p.m.
Q. What happens if I don’t pass the entrance exam?
Students who don’t pass the exam the first time have to wait 24 hours before retaking the exam. Students who fail only one section of the exam will only have to retest that section. Students who fail the exam a second time must wait six months before it is possible to retake it.
Q. How long does the entrance exam take?
The exam takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The exam includes 25 English questions and 27 math questions. The questions are at high school level and prospective students can use a calculator for the math portion. The exam does not include Algebra.
Q. Approximately how long does the enrollment process take?
The enrollment process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes (not including new student orientation).
Q. If I’m paying for a program on my own, how do you accept payment?
We accept credit cards, checks and cash for all payments that are made to the school. We also require that all payments for each term are paid in full on or before the first day of each term.
Q. Do you have job placement?
No, unfortunately we do not offer job placement. However, we do offer placement assistance in a variety of ways. Please see the Course Catalog and Student Information Handbook under Placement Assistance Services for more details.
Q. How hard is it to find a job once I have graduated?
Average employment rates for graduates of Abdill Career College, Inc. may be found through the Academic Programs tab, then selecting the “Learn More about this Program” button for a particular program. We recommend students inquire at the employment office in the area in which they wish to find employment for local details on employment opportunities for specific fields of study.
Q. Does your school accept transferred credits?
At this time, Abdill Career College, Inc. does not have any contractual agreements with any other schools or colleges for transfer of credits. However, students who feel they meet or exceed the academic requirements for specific courses, or who have taken courses at another educational facility and wish to receive credit for credit for courses they have taken elsewhere, may choose to challenge any individual course at Abdill Career College, Inc. a successful grade to pass a challenge test is 90% or better. Q. Do other schools accept Abdill Career College, Inc. credits?
At this time, Abdill Career College, Inc. does not have any contractual agreements with any other schools or colleges for transfer of credits. However, we highly recommend students contact facilities they wish to attend in the future to determine how their education at Abdill Career College, Inc. may affect their future educational goals.
Q. When can students pick up their next terms books?
New students will receive their books during orientation. Students in their second or later term MUST pick up their books as follows: If your last name begins with A-K, you must pick up your books on the day before the term ends. If your last name begins with L-Z, you must pick up your books on the last day of the term. All books may be obtained through the administrative front office. It is highly recommended for students electing to purchase their books elsewhere to speak with administrative staff prior to purchase.
Q. Where are you located?
We are located at 843 East Main Street in Medford, Oregon. We occupy the second floor of the Century Building. Our main office is suite 203.
Q. What’s your cross street, and what familiar landmarks are you by?
Our cross street is Crater Lake Ave. We are right down the street from the Jackson County Health Department and we are across the street from the Community Works Center.
